The cabling licence system administered by the Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA) has been replaced by the Cabler Provider Rules (CPRs), a new industry managed registration system. The new system has been slowly phased in since October 2000 with the remaining cabling licences expiring in October 2005. Effectively, individual licences are now replaced with registrations. The ACMA still regulates the telecommunications industry but no longer keeps records of cabler registrations. For information on previous licence types and their conditions, click here.
